WINDOWS SERVER 2003 – DATA-CENTER EDITION:
The Datacenter edition of Windows Server 2003 is designed for high-end, high-traffic application servers which require huge system resources.
It can support upto 64GB of RAM and upto 32 processors.
ICF and ICS options are unavailable in this version because a server running the Datacenter version of Windows Server 2003 is not expected to be in roles that use these features.
This version is not available through retail outlets.It can be procured only as part of a high-end server package.
The Datacenter edition is also available in 64 bit addressing versions. (They can run on servers that use Intel’s Itanium Processors.)
The 64bit version is generally used for processor intensive tasks like scientific analysis, massive database applications and heavily accessed web-servers.
