How to create a Mandatory Profile in Active Directory?

Mandatory Profiles will not allow a user to make any changes to his profile settings. In order to create a Mandatory Profile, the user must have a Roaming Profile and should have logged in to his Roaming Profile at least once.

Now follow the sequence given below:

Right Click on the Folder where the Roaming Profile is saved – Select Properties – Select Security – Then Select Advanced – Select Owner – Administrator’s Group – Select Replace Permissions – Check the Box and Apply – Click Yes and OK

Now Open the Shared Folder – Open the Profile – Rename the file NTUser.dat to NTUser.man

Right Click on the Shared Folder – Select Properties – Security – Advanced – Check the box “Replace the Entries/Permissions of the Entire Child Objects”…Select Apply – Select Yes – and Click on OK….

You can check the profile type by Right Clicking on My Computer – Go to Properties – Select the Advanced Tab – Click on User Profile Settings.
